UNC gymnast Hallie Thompson battling back from second ACL tear ahead of 2023 season

In the first meet of the 2022 season, then-junior UNC gymnast Hallie Thompson stepped up to compete in the bar routine and suffered the second ACL tear of her collegiate athletics career — sidelining her for yet another season. After working hard to get back to the mat and put together an all-around meet her junior year, she’s prepared to work even harder to meet those same goals her senior season.

After securing a win at home against Temple University last Saturday, the North Carolina gymnastics team traveled to Raleigh and added another win to their record after defeating the N.C. State Wolfpack 196.625-196.350.

The North Carolina gymnastics team returned home to Carmichael arena and defeated Temple University with a final score of 195.600 to 195.425 on Saturday night. After a win and a loss in the Alabama Tri Meet, this victory was exactly what the Tar Heels needed to move forward during the late season.

Competing in its second away meet of the season, the No. 25 North Carolina gymnastics team (6-5, 4-1 ACC) finished with a final score of 195.325, which secured second place at the Alabama Tri Meet in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday night.

UNC psychology student heads to Olympics as part of U.S. rhythmic gymnastics team

UNC sophomore Camilla Feeley is ending her rhythmic gymnastics career with a bang as a member of Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics. She and her team hope that they can perform two clean routines in Tokyo to end Feeley’s career before she returns to UNC to study psychology.
