Women in Sports Series

Inspired by The Michigan Daily's women sports initiative, The Daily Tar Heel is making a renewed commitment to covering the stories of the women in athletics from the perspective of the women on our sports staff.

The DTH is introducing The Women In Sports series, which will produce stories once a week about women by women for the coming year.

If you have any story ideas or women you think should be highlighted, please email sports@dailytarheel.com.

Destiny Cox was slated to be the next great track star in her family, before she made a important announcement to her family. She wanted to play volleyball instead.
