Carrboro Vendor Offers Piercings, Tattoos

The day after Glenn Wilson graduated from high school, he used his newfound freedom to get his first tattoo.The experience, Wilson claimed, changed his life and he dreamed of opening his own business.After working more than eight years in other tattoo parlors, Wilson's dream became a reality on March 26 with the opening of Glenn's Tattoo Service Inc. at 110 W. Main St. in Carrboro. The shop offers tattooing and jewelry in addition to piercing performed by Robert Bland.

Town Hails Fare-Free Bus Route

The Chapel Hill Town Council met Wednesday evening to discuss the implications and the possibility of including fare-free transit in the town budget for the next fiscal year.UNC students passed a fare-free busing referendum on Feb. 13.

Rewards Offered to Spark Leads Into Shelter Arson

Information is still being sought on a fire at the Orange County Animal Shelter on Feb. 25 that claimed the lives of five of the shelter's animals.Three baby squirrels, a rabbit and a ferret were killed as a result of the fire, according to a release from the Humane Society of the United States. The release also stated that the Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information on anyone involved in the fire. The fire caused more than $10,000 damage.

Farming Forum Aims To Address Concerns

With classes, exams and the Duke-UNC game to look forward to tonight, most UNC students are probably not concerned with the role farming plays in the lives of their fellow residents.But members of the Orange County Board of Commissioners and representatives from environmental and agriculture agencies from across North Carolina will meet to prove that farming is not something that concerns just students from N.C. State University.The Third Agricultural Summit/Farmer's Forum will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
