NAACP rally calls for change in North Carolina

The N.C. NAACP held a rally in each of the state’s 13 congressional districts on Wednesday. The rallies protested recent laws passed by the N.C. General Assembly. They coincided with and commemorated the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.‘s March on Washington. An estimated 300 people attended the Franklin Street rally, “Taking the Dream Home to Chapel Hill.” Read the full story.

The UNC volleyball team is gearing up for what it believes will be another successful season. Tar Heels within the university and the community filled Fetzer Gym A to watch these ladies battle it out in a light-hearted scrimmage. See what coach Joe Segula had to say about his team’s progress.

Students enjoy rain-free Fall Fest

UNC’s class of 2017 was welcomed with open arms last night at Fall Fest 2013 — a campus-wide event where students get to choose from over 200 student organizations. This year the rain was not a factor, and the students got to enjoy the festivities without fear of staying out of the rain. Check out all the highlights from this year’s Fall Fest.
