RALEIGH, N.C. — Fueled by sophomore point guard Kendall Marshall’s career-high 22 points and 13 assists, No. 8 North Carolina beat N.C. State 86-74 Tuesday at the RBC Center.
The Tar Heels led by just five points at halftime after a pair of N.C. State runs kept the Wolfpack in the game, but sharp shooting from UNC deflated N.C. State in the second half.
UNC shot almost 52 percent from the field, including 10-of-18 from beyond the arc.
All five North Carolina starters finished with double-digit points, and Barnes finished with 20 points.
