ATLANTA — At halftime of No. 4 North Carolina’s ACC tournament semifinal matchup with N.C. State, the Wolfpack lead UNC 34-31.

After injuring his left wrist in yesterday’s quarterfinal game with Maryland, UNC forward John Henson is sitting the bench today, while freshman forward James Michael McAdoo took his place on the starting lineup.

UNC struggled early without its usual starting forward, and the Wolfpack racked up second-chance points.

With less than five minutes to go in the half, UNC’s Kendall Marshall picked up his second foul and N.C. State took a five-point lead. North Carolina’s Reggie Bullock responded with a 5-0 run of his own, though, tying the score at 25.

N.C. State’s C.J. Leslie led all scorers with 15 points, while Tyler Zeller led UNC with 9. The Tar Heels outrebounded N.C. State 20-17 in the first half.

With 24 seconds left in the half, McAdoo picked up his third foul of the game.
