The Daily Tar Heel

DURHAM — The Duke men’s basketball team defeated North Carolina 93-81 Saturday in the final regular season game for both teams.

The Blue Devils (24-7, 13-5 ACC) were led by a 30-point effort from freshman forward Jabari Parker, who combined with Rodney Hood’s 22 points to cruise past the Tar Heels (23-8, 13-5).

Duke never trailed in the contest.

UNC played with a thin frontcourt due to Kennedy Meeks’ illness and four quick fouls on junior forward James Michael McAdoo.

Sophomore guard Marcus Paige led the Tar Heels with 24 points, scoring 18 in the second half. But UNC couldn’t close in on the hot-shooting Blue Devils.

UNC shot 61 percent for the game — compared to 51 percent for Duke — but was hampered by 13 turnovers and 16 Duke offensive rebounds.

The Tar Heels will play next at the ACC tournament in Greensboro on Friday as a No. 4 seed.
