Brothers involved in Chapel Hill stabbing

Chapel Hill police charged a man with attempted first degree murder following a stabbing Sunday morning on Nunn Street.

Kareem Tay’shaun Shah, 20, is suspected of stabbing his brother, Scotty Levelle Clardy of Durham, 26, shortly after 10 a.m. at their father’s house. Both men were wounded when officers arrived at the house, and both were transported to UNC Hospitals.

Ran Northam, communications specialist for the Town of Chapel Hill, said Clardy remains in critical condition. Shah’s condition is currently unknown.

Northam said he did not know the specifics on how exactly the suspect was wounded.

Chapel Hill police are still investigating any motive behind the incident. More information will be released when available.
