Man dies after stabbing at Carrboro Town Commons

Updated Aug. 9, 9:37 a.m.: The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Sedgwick Raynard Barnes Jr., was charged with first-degree murder for the stabbing of Kenneth Michael Moseley.

Barnes is being held in the Orange County Jail without bond.


Updated Aug. 7, 1:44 p.m.: The victim was identified as Kenneth Michael Moseley, 50, of Durham. The investigation into the stabbing is still ongoing.


A man died from his injuries after a stabbing at the Carrboro Town Commons at 301 W. Main St. at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

After the incident, the man was transported to UNC Hospitals, where he later died. The victim's identity has not yet been released.

The Carrboro Police Department is investigating and believes the incident to be isolated.
