North Carolina lost to N.C. State in its first game of the College World Series on Sunday. The team practiced at Creighton’s baseball field on Monday and signed autographs for fans. The Tar Heels will take on Louisiana State Tuesday at 3 p.m.
UNC lost to South Carolina Sunday 8-0 in game two of the Chapel Hill Super Regional. Gamecock pitcher Jordan Montgomery shut out the Tar Heels and allowed only four hits. The UNC pitching staff didn’t have as much luck as Montgomery though. Giving up eight runs and eight hits, the Tar Heels used a plethora of pitchers and walked nine batters.
UNC defeated South Carolina Saturday 6-5 after Skye Bolt hit a walk-off single that scored Parks Jordan in the bottom of the ninth inning.
