Carrboro Film Festival's fifth year a success

The audience at the fifth Annual Carrboro Film Festival met most of the films with enthusiastic applause, leading the festival committee members to believe this was the best one yet. The event committee gave out 11 awards, and two films received honors given by the audience. Awards ranged from best music video to best animated film.


Comedy students present their talent at DSI showcase

On Friday night, DSI Comedy hosted a showcase to give a forum for its improv students, where they could show off what they learned to a live audience. Two students from and a teacher of Improv 101 sat down with reporter Dominique Moore to offer some insight into what goes into a class and how the first performance went.


In the Studio: Pendergrass continues art work, theses

Peter Pendergrass, the focus of Canvas’ In the Studio series, is continuing to develop his work. His newest piece, a performance of the one-act “Sterilize” with his drama group, The Performance Collective, will be unveiled at this weekend’s Durham ArtWalk.
